mloy - I have never heard of a store suggesting that before. I thought they had to throw out any food if it had been returned because they can't guarantee it has been handled correctly. I am shocked she told you to do that vs just giving you a raincheck. And I am dismayed that she even suggested it - I would not want mayo that had been returned and may have sat in a hot car for days. Which HT was this at?

I just got a $2 coupon on all shampoos from the kiosk at CVS. I bought 3 VO5's on sale @ 79 cents each for a total of 53 cents.

Today I went to HT to get the Hellman's mayo and use my $2 coupon only to find they were sold out. The only ones left had olive oil. The lady at customer service told me to buy those and apply the coupon then switch them out when they got the regular ones. Never thought about that.

Flying - thanks for all the Asheville tips! I actually lived there for 2 years while in grad school but I have never taken the kids so you ideas are really helpful. It has been nearly 2 decades since I have been down sliding rock! I wore jeans shorts when I went down and that seemed to work well as I remember - but you are so right - the water was very cold even in August! Tubing is a great idea and I am sure the girls would love that! Thanks again!

jdouglas - I hope you have had a chance to rest, have some dinner and recoup! Every once in a while I have a shop like that and it really sucks the life out of me! I am really happy for the folks in JoCo who will live near the new HT. :-)

Oh jdouglas13, that advice certainly applies to any day of SDs! I know of a woman who was exhausted on the first day and used a raincheck for the Smart Balance milk, not realizing it was on sale. Apparently the cashier didn't notice either, because she accepted and processed the raincheck for all 3 cartons. We all make mistakes when we are too tired.

terr19 and others re the planned Jo Cty Harris Teeter. Agreed that this will not be too convenient if you are in the Cleveland or Raleigh side of Clayton. I am actually "East Clayton" but thanks to a little thing called the Neuse River it will feel out of the way to me, but much better than going to Raleigh!

Can I do a mini-rant please? My tip for the day is do not try to do the last day of HT SD when you are exhausted before you start. I messed up on at least 4 or 5 deals, forgot to get rainchecks for a lot of stuff, and walked out more exhausted and really frustrated. Then I got to drive an hour to get home (we were in the area already for other appointments). Have to say I am REALLY looking forward to the new HT near Flowers Plantation, and I hope the staff is trained by the great staff from HT at 401/10-10! Thanks, I feel better now :p

Asheville area is a fun place! I do think Biltmore is a bit pricey...the NC Arboretum is beautiful, and FREE on Tuesdays (at least that is how it's worked in the past)...There's a Mast General Store downtown (although it doesn't have the charm of the one in Valle Crucis)...sometimes Pack Place has outdoor music...good chocolate shop downtown (can't remember the name)...if you happen to be there during the holidays check out the Gingerbread Contest and all the themed trees at the Grove Park Inn...

Also if you see a deal near Brevard that is a beautiful area and not as 'touristy'(I hope all the Hunger Games hype doesn't change that)...DuPont Forest is nearby, several great hiking trails & waterfalls, also can go up 276 to see Looking Glass Falls, Sliding Rock (wear an old swimsuit & water is COLD!), etc, and eventually end up on the BRP...also there is Tubing in that area. Dolly's is wonderful for a good ole ice cream cone while sitting on their porch in a rocking chair :)

I was in Whole Foods last night and saw a sign posted: this Friday (6/29) you can get peaches for 79 cents a pound. I think that's a good price lol!

I haven't been on in a few days so this may have already been posted...Brawny paper towels - $1 zvr & $1 coupon from Sundays inserts=$2.77; Vanity Fair napkins 2 for $5, less $1 zvr, 2-.55 coupons = $1.80 for 2.
