Food Lion deals 6/13 - 6/19

Posted June 12, 2012

Food Lion deals this week include limes for 20 cents each, cucumbers for 50 cents each, sweet potatoes for 67 cents per lb., drumsticks for .99/lb, Coke 2 ltrs., for 99 cents each, and more.

Food Lion Coupon Basics

Food Lion does not double coupons

They have no limits on number of coupons they will take, unless specified in the ad

BOGO items ring up at half price so if you only buy 1, it rings at half price. You can use a coupon on each BOGO sale item.

E-Coupons: You can now load RedPlum.com manufacturer’s coupons to your Food Lion MVP card and when they scan your card at the register and you buy the qualifying items, the discount will come off automatically. I spoke with corporate and they confirmed that these are manufacturer’s coupons and not to be combined with hard copy manufacturer’s from the newspaper and other sources. She said their policy is only 1 coupon per product. No e-coupons will double. Click HERE for more information.

Gift Card Instant Savings Deal: Save $10 instantly when you spend $50 on participating gift cards from June 6th – June 19th
The qualifying gift cards include Belk, Lowes Home improvement store, iTunes, Bass Pro Shops, Mastercard
Limit 1 per shopping trip, see gift cards for terms and any applicable fees (check to see if the Mastercard has any fees)
This is basically like getting 20% off at any of these stores using the $50 gift card that you only paid $40 for.
We are still working on the kitchen remodel so I will be picking up some of the Lowes gift cards!

Wet‘n Wild Emerald Pointe discount on tickets when you show your MVP card:
$7 off all-day admission May 26 – June 30
$5 off all-day admission July 1 – September 3
Valid for up to 6 people for each MVP transaction, no discounts during 4 pm admissions during entire 2012 season

Summer Savings event: Get $20 in free groceries when you shop 6 times between 5/23 and 7/17 and spend $45 or more in each shopping trip. Once you make the 6 required shopping trips, you will receive a coupon on your receipt for $20 off your next shopping trip. See store for more details. Honestly, I never spend that much an any one store every week, so I never get these types of rewards. If Food Lion is your main store, though, you may spend enough every week to get the reward.

jkay, did you buy the Mastercard gc? That card has an activation fee. Might be $4.95 give or take a little. But no, you should NOT be charged tax.
That would be double taxation, since the person who uses the card will pay tax again. But the FEE is allowable. Of the choices at FL, that is the only one that would have any fee at all.

There is tax on gift cards at FL. I bought 3 crards at two different stores and they charged tax on all three of them.

  • HappyGirl08 Jun 15, 2012

jkay, there is no tax on gift cards. If you buy 50.00 worth, you pay 40.00. If your store is charging you tax on your gift cards they are doing something wrong.

  • HappyGirl08 Jun 15, 2012

Ok, I think you can go 6 times in a row and spend 45.00 and get your 20.00. The other day I went to 2 different FL and bought gift cards and a few other things to reach a total of 45.00 after the discount. I got 2 credits towards my 6 that day. It tells you on your receipt. So, if you have to buy groceries and gift cards I'd say just ring up twice. Gift cards and a couple of items so you hit 45.00 and then your groceries...assuming they will hit 45.00.

I could not find a single store manager in Cary who could explain the gift card/ $45 per week deal. So I called corporate and the man who answered the phone didn't know either. Typical of FL for nobody working there who knows anything about their own promotions. If I told you some of the answers I got you wouldn't believe me.

  • jkay Jun 14, 2012

    * I meant to say for $10 off the $50 gift card! They ring up at about $45 after tax, however.

  • jkay Jun 14, 2012

There are 4 participating gift cards, They include Bass Pro shops, Belk, Mastercard, and one other - maybe iTunes but I'm not sure. You can get as many of these $50 cards for $10 as you want - but only one per transaction. So you can get one on the way in at the service desk, another on the way out at the cash register, etc. However, they ing up at close to $45 after tax so it's really just a 10% discount.

  • angel2000 Jun 14, 2012

I'm sorry-I meant the store credit of $20.

  • angel2000 Jun 14, 2012

For the gift card deal do you have to go every week and spend $45 dollars or could you just keep going thru six times in one day to get the credit. I know this sounds weird but I am fixing meals next week for 15 every day x 3 for camp and I know the amount will add up.

  • cmbiglow Jun 14, 2012

Where on your receipt does it say you have the credit?
