Linda, I have a excel spreadsheet that I use for the coupons I have collected. Basically, the column headings are: quantity of coupons, manufacturer, description or details of item, coupon value, and expiration date. I have another separate section on the same spreadsheet for rainchecks with the same headings. What I like about this method is I can highlight all of the coupons and then do a custom sort. All coupons expiring within the month are in bold and red typeface. All free coupons or special coupons are highlighted with a yellow line. The final sort is to put the coupons in order: manufacturer, description, and expiration. What I like about this method is I never miss out on using an important coupon because it expired, and I can make the typeface as large as I need so I can see it without going back and forth between my all purpose and reading glasses!

I got the same expired coupons... I added my in a nice little envelope and mailed them back to them and point out in my letter that they was expired!!!!!

Can someone please give me some advice about where I can get a FREE basic coupon tracker spreadsheet or some tips on how to make my own?!

I agree 1Lloyd. It was frustrating to hear that they wouldn't take the coupon that was 1 penny over the price. I certainly don't want to be fradulent, but the first one scanned without a problem. When something like this happens to me it makes me want to go to another store.

hollyh515, Yeah it's stuff like that makes you want to shop somewhere else.

And that's what I normally tell them if they act like they have a problem adjusting the "coupon value", or just hand keying it. If they start giving me static about it, I make it clear that I will just void off my whole order and go somewhere else. It's not that big a deal.

The cashier technically doesn't need a override or manager's approval and can just hand key the $1 coupon with no problem. Lowes is going to get reimbursed a $1, so it's shouldn't be a big deal. If the cashier hand keys it at .99 cents though, then the register will automatically double it.

In any case, it's not the consumer's fault that their system won't take the coupon. Always look at it this way, a coupon is just a voucher from the manufacturer that works the same as cash. It's not a "discount". They are getting paid the value of the coupon. So really all stores should apply all coupon overage toward your subtotal.

1LloydChristmas I used my coupon yesterday for the Ken's marinade. The cashier told me that technically they cannot take the coupon because it is for a higher value than what the item costs. The manager was able to over ride it but said they would not usually do that.

There's a $1/1 Ken's Marinade coupon in the 5/6 SS. So free at Lowes after fresh reward discount.
