New Recipe Database!

Posted May 29, 2012

The long awaited Recipe Database is now up and running! Not only can you find recipes I have posted here on the Smart Shopper blog, you can also find recipes from Go Ask Mom, Out & About, Got to be NC and more!

Click on the "Search WRAL Recipes" link in the box above and you will be able to find dishes by ingredient, source, type of dish, time to prepare and more!

You can also find the "Search WRAL Recipes" link on the home page of the Smart Shopper blog on the right side in the Smart Shopper Resources section.

All the recipes I post will be listed under the Smart Shopper category. Some are also in the frugal category, but to see all the Smart Shopper recipes, just click on "Smart Shopper" in the Source section and then click Search.  The favorites I have posted many times are already entered and I will be entering additional recipes in the weeks to come.

At this time we don't have an option for readers to post recipes, but I am always looking for new frugal  recipes to try and post so feel free to post your frugal recipes here or on the Monday Meal plan each week and I can add them to the database.

My thanks to Jodi and Caitlin for putting the database together and entering the initial recipes!

One recipe that my family loves is chicken and rice.
    3 boneless skinless chicken breasts
    1 cup brown rice
2 cans cream of mushroom soup

Cook the chicken and then add the soup. Make the rice and mix it altogether and viola dinner in under an hour. We also like to add soy sauce to the dish.
