Lowes Foods: $33 worth of groceries for 60 cents!

Posted May 5, 2012

Check out the deals I got on Friday at Lowes Foods for just 60 cents! The regular retail price would have been $33.99, so I saved $33.39!

I stocked up on some chips, soda and granola bars. I even got 1/2 lb of 90% lean ground beef! I need chips and soda for a function in June, so the timing is perfect for these deals.

Here's the breakdown:

4 bags of Grande Tortilla chips BOGO for $1.50 - .75 coupon from the 4/15 SmartSource insert

4 boxes of Snackwells Cinnamon Raisin granola bars on sale for $1.69 - .75/1 coupon from 2/5 SmartSource insert

2 bottles of diet ginger ale on sale for $1.25 - $1 tear pad coupons found in the deli section this morning while shopping at Lowes Foods! They were on sale for $1.25 - $1 coupon = .25 per 2 ltr.

2 packages of .3 lb of 90% lean ground beef - $1.50 off ground beef coupons when you buy 2 Grande Tortilla chips bags that were on the Grande chips bags. They were .14 per package after coupons!

1 peppermint patty (needed to get above negative amount)

I also used a $2 Catalina Register coupon that I received yesterday when I bought 2 boxes of Morningstar veggie burgers at Lowes Foods and I got 5 cents off my total because I brought a reusable bag with me to bag my groceries in!

Thanks for the great deals Lowes Foods!

I didn't realize you could use a manufacturer's coupons on the tortilla chips and a manufacturer's coupon off the chips and the meat, but I guess it's allowed because it was a peelie? Good to know - Great deal!

jdouglas, the coupon was for any brand of soda on a beer display - no beer purchase required.

    Great job sbourgeois!

cushioncritter, thanks for reading the blog. I am guessing you are a newer couponer (or at least new to this blog) as we often discuss all the great buys you can get on healthy foods and non-food items with coupons. I encourage you to stick around and see how many fabulous deals we chat about for fresh produce, meat, whole grains, and non-food essentials. As I have posted many times before, the best deals are not just for junk. In recent weeks I have found excellent deals (80% off retail price or better) on plenty of items your doctor would probably be just fine with including tofu (free with coupon and sale), Smart Balance Milk (free with coupon and sale), whole grain paste (free with coupon and sale), eggs (.25 with coupon and rain check), Kashi cereal (.99 with coupon 3 days ago), lots of free toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other bath products. Hope that helps!

I've found that the foods with "big sales", "coupons", etc. tend to match up 99% with those my doctors tell me I should not be eating. I chose my words carefully, so if you censor this, I ...

Look in tomorrow's Smart Source for .40/1 Texas Pete Hot Sauce and $1/1 Sun Drop 2L.

Texas Pete hot sauce 6 oz is .98 at Lowes, .18 after coupon.

Is Texas Pete Chili Sauce considered a hot sauce? If so, it's on sale for .69, so FREE after coupon.

Sun Drop is on sale for $1.25, so .25 after coupon. Although you may want to use this coupon later or at another store when they are on sale for $.99.

Crystal Light is on sale for $1.88, a great price to use one of the high value coupons from Crystal Light's recent "mocktails" promotion on facebook.
There is also a $1/2 coupon in tomorrow's smart source.
