Can anyone tell me the cheapest place to buy lamb? My husband requested I make my lamb curry, but the last couple times I've bought it at one of the warehouses it hasn't been great. Any suggestions?

Yes, HT will accept WIC. My daughter gets WIC and uses them at HT all the time. Great program for families with low income.

I haven't been as active on the forum lately because my little guy has been sick (we thought just a head cold that had turned into an infection of some sort). Long story short, he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on Friday and we spent the weekend at Wakemed (he was released out of the PICU Saturday evening and we went home Sunday). I wasn't ever able to do Super Doubles but I was mostly interested in stocking up on lean ground beef. After the manager at the Fuquay HT asked about my son, he said he would be happy to honor the price of last week. He also helped us find some lower carb bread and to pick out a yummy cantaloupe. HT's service is so awesome!! I called the 800 number to give them a huge thumb's up!! :)

Thekeslings - I am so sorry to hear your little guy has been sick. I hope they are getting his diabetes under control and that he is starting to feel better. Sounds like your store manager went above and beyond! I was just in that store an hour ago and they were lovely as usual. One of the customer service managers, Eron, was just transferred from the Cary store on Walnut and he is soooo nice! I imagine your meal plan will be changing. If it would help to do a post on meal planning for diabetes, let me know. We can see what others who are also dealing with it are eating while still staying in their budgets. Hang in there!
