Coupon policy during Super Doubles

* HT will Super Double coupons worth up to $1.98 face value. This means that a $1.50 coupon will double to $3.00. A $1.00 coupon will double to $2.00. A $2.00 coupon will not double at all and will only be taken at face value ($2.00).

* HT begins super doubling coupons at 7:00 AM on the first day of the sale. 24 hour stores do not super double coupons before 7:00 AM on the first day (at least that is how it has always worked in the past).

* HT will super double/double up to 20 coupons per household per day. Spouse's cards registered with the same address are linked because the policy is 20 per household, per day. If you have twenty $1 coupons and twenty .75 coupons, only 20 total will double. They will not double 20 coupons that are under $1 and also super double another 20 coupons that are over $1. It's 20 total coupons doubled per day.

* HT policy is to double up to 3 identical coupons (as long as you buy the product required for each coupon, of course). So, if you have five $1.00 coupons for a product, the policy is to only super double the first three.

Tips for Super Doubles Success

* The earlier you get to the store on Wednesday, the better. Some shoppers are there at 6 or 6:30 am to get the items and then wait in line until 7 am to check out.

* Find out when the next truck comes in for your store and be there the next morning for better stock

* Get rainchecks for items they are out of. Harris Teeter rainchecks do not expire so use them the next Super Doubles. Some of my best deals (like FREE Smart Balance Milk) will be using rainchecks from the sales from the last couple months.

* The official policy is that coupons that indicate "Do Not Double" will not double. We all know that some Harris Teeter stores will scan them and let them double, but not all will do that. Do not be surprised if your Do Not Double coupons are not doubled.

* Enjoy the deals you do get and remember that if they are out of a product now, you may still be able to get it later in the week.

* If you feel so inclined, it's always a nice gesture to e-mail Harris teeter customer service through the comments section at HarrisTeeter.com to thank them for offering this promotion.

heremeaj - understood, Faye's the BESTEST!!!!!!!

  • heremeaj Apr 18, 9:40 a.m.

Nancy, I do look on the express shopping but our fearless leader always finds unadvertised deals that I would have missed.

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Apr 18, 9:32 a.m.

praiz - no, none of the grocery stores accept expired coupons including HT. There are a couple of coupons on the list that actually expire today, 4/18, the first day of the sale. Which coupon specifically has expired that is on the list above? There are a number of coupons that overlapped recently (meaning 1 expired in the last couple weeks but another identical one came out and is still valid. ) You may have the expired ones, but there could still be valid ones that are still in date in circulation for the same product in the same amount.

Thanks gocat! Will make the change.

Does Harris Teeter accept coupons beyond their exp date? Was noticing there are some listed for the super doubles tomorrow which are expired. Thanks!

  • gocats8 Apr 17, 10:00 p.m.

According to the Express Lane, the BelVita "cookies" are on sale for $2.99 so they will end up being $0.99 instead of $1.69.

heremeaj - you can always look up on Harris Teeter Express Lane online and check for items you have good coupons for, that price list is up already for the ad starting tomorrow - they usually update the prices by 2:30pm on Tuesdays for those who place orders for next day pick up :)

All the catalinas I've ever gotten from HT say "Not Subject to Doubling, redeem at Harris Teeter" :(

  • Nancy Apr 17, 7:38 p.m.

Yippee! I have a raincheck for Smart Balance milk, plus the coupon = free and then free spread too? Way nice!

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Apr 17, 7:12 p.m.

hwurr, I don't remember ever seeing a Catalina register coupon that did not say Do Not Double. I also think all their bar codes start with a 9 so they will not double. You cannot couple them with any other coupons for the same product since they are both a store and manufacturer coupon.

jdouglas, have you had a Catalina double? I need to pay more attention to them if some don't say Do Not Double! :-)

  • jdouglas13 Apr 17, 6:45 p.m.

hwurr2, if you catalina coupon says Manufacturers Coupon on it and does NOT say DND and is $1.98 or less, it should double.
