Whole Foods in Cary kindly accepted my coupon for a free Amy's burrito. My coupon was set to expire tomorrow - March 23.

vlynn - that HT at the corner of Tryon and Kildaire is not a friendly one for couponers, they also don't scan coupons that state do not double on them, they manually enter them so they will not double (that's up to each store mgr). Better to go to the HT at Tryon & Walnut or Kildaire & Ten Ten Rd - they're awesome!

HappyGirl08, thanks for the idea. I emailed Amy's since the coupon expires today and I won't be going out shopping until next week. I hope they do send me a coupon in the mail.

pss3.....I just used the free Amy's Burrito coupon, this past Tuesday at HT on Tryon/Walnut. No problems. I pointed it out to the cashier, so he rang it up last, to have the price handy.

I usually don't print "free" coupons when they rarely are available (or BOGO) for that matter. BUT yesterday, I discovered that sometimes when using or bricks you can select the coupon, and go to "Help." For some coupons, they are eligible for the "mail to you" option, and just just put in your address. I'm not sure if they will come in a form that looks like it was printed on my printer, or more professional like insert coupons, but it's worth a try for those "Free" coupons.

pss3, I haven't tried that particular coupon but the last time I had one like that I emailed the company and explained that retailers in my area would not accept it as it was printed from the internet. They mailed me a handful so that was nice. I forget now who it was. You could try that if no one will take it. Or, maybe target will accept it. Have you tried them?

Anyone have any luck using the free coupon from Amy's? I tried Wal-mart, they wouldn't take it because when it scanned, the register came up with "is this a valid coupon?" and I have had that happen before with coupons from the newspaper and the cashier had to say yes. My cashier wouldn't say yes due to the fact it was printed from the internet.

Then I went to Food Lion, they also would not take it saying they no longer accept internet free item coupons. I called corporate because that is not in their policy and they said due to the rise of fraudulent coupons, some store managers are no longer taking internet coupons for free items.

Well, I think if they forget to take the tag down they should at the very least honor the price. I have had that happen to me at my HT and they gave me one free and reduced the other, no questions asked. I guess it is going to depend on where you go and who is in charge. I don't see much difference in that and a pricing error when something scans. An error is an error.

Faye: My BOGO raincheck issue happened at two different HT's on two different items on two different days! HT on Tryon in Cary and HT on Glenwood. In both cases, the cashier said they didn't accept coupons on the free item and the mgrs didn't want to do it either. After I explained how the BOGO's ring half price on the register so you can use two coupons, they still didn't want to do it. However, when they realized that I wasn't giving up, they finally did it.

Faye & marybethwright6: I was at the Glenwood HT with the cheerio issue. I'm only 5 ft tall and the tag for the cereal was over my head with the 2 for 6 in big letters. I didn't see any date on it. When the mgr went back with me, he pulled the tag and looked at it, then told me that it was an old one. Is it in the HT policy that they don't honor the scan rite guarentee when they have failed to remove sale tags? This was always happening to me at Kroger, but they always honored the scan rite.
