Food Lion deals 3/21 - 3/27

Posted March 20, 2012

Food Lion has some good deals this week on avocados, apples, boneless chicken thighs, milk, My Essentials soda and more. These deals are valid 3/21 – 3/27.

Food Lion Coupon Basics

Food Lion does not double coupons

They have no limits on number of coupons they will take, unless specified in the ad

BOGO items ring up at half price so if you only buy 1, it rings at half price. You can use a coupon on each BOGO sale item.

E-Coupons: You can now load manufacturer’s coupons to your Food Lion MVP card and when they scan your card at the register and you buy the qualifying items, the discount will come off automatically. I spoke with corporate and they confirmed that these are manufacturer’s coupons and not to be combined with hard copy manufacturer’s from the newspaper and other sources. She said their policy is only coupon per product. No e-coupons will double. Click HERE for more information.

As the only one in my household who drinks skim milk, I like not only a low price but long shelf life. I find Food Lion milk is good much longer that that from Lowes. Definitely worth a few cents difference if it means I do not have to throw any out.

From experience, if you try to use e-coupons at FL, be sure to print out the list of the ones you have clicked on to save to your card (this advice from a customer service rep at their 800#). The system often does not apply your coupons at check-out and you have to show your list to the store manager to work it out. (One of mine subtracted and then added back before I completed my check-out!) My store mgr refunded the $ and told me she had tried to use them on her card - sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Two members of my family who live in other areas of NC discovered the managers at their stores were not even aware that FL offered e-coupons or how to help customers with them when the system doesn't work!

But Lowes Foods is a little cheaper on the milk if you will be going there this week. I do agree, straitlover- they rarely put their milk on sale at FL.

Jessica - no word yet on whether they will offer another doubling event at FL. I found very few really good deals during the 2 weeks period that they did double, though. I guess if you live in an area with no Lowes Foods or Harris Teeter, I can see where it would be a help to have FL double.

Whoa, they have milk on sale??? I can't recall the last time FL had milk on sale. It's usually the most expensive place to buy store brand milk.

Have you heard if they will be doubling coupons anymore??? It sure would be nice if they did :)
