Monday

BBQ slow cooker chicken (see recipe below) – using Sanderson Farms chicken breast on sale at Lowes Foods for $1.99/lb through 3/6

Rice

Steamed carrots – 2 lb bag of carrots from Harris Teeter is $1.17 regular price

Tuesday

Bird’s Eye Chicken Voila – BOGO at Harris Teeter through 3/6 and used $1.85/1 coupon available on couponnetwork.com recently

Sugar Snap Peas – Green Giant frozen boxed .60 on sale with coupon last week

Apple slices – .99/lb at Kroger this week

Wednesday

Chicken Parmesan – using $1.99/lb chicken breasts from Lowes Foods through 3/5

Easy Chicken Parmesan recipe on Allrecipes.com found HERE.

In addition to the listed recipe ingredients, I added a 4 oz. can of sliced mushrooms drained, ½ green pepper diced, ¼ onion diced, garlic powder, Italian seasoning and pepper to taste. I usually cut the chicken breasts in half to lessen cooking time.

Easy Crockpot BBQ Chicken Recipe

You can use beef, chicken or pork in this delicious and easy barbecue recipe.

Ingredients:
1 and ½ to 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast, fat trimmed off
½ bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce
½ onion, chopped
½ tsp. Garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Put chicken breasts in slow cooker. Season with garlic, salt and pepper. Pour barbecue sauce over meat and add onion. Cover and cook on Low for 7 to 8 hours, until fully cooked and tender. Check at 7 hours to see if done. Serve whole or pull apart to make BBQ sandwiches. Serves 4. Delicious!
