Walgreens always seems to have good prices on eggs and milk, but their expiration dates are too close, so I never buy them. Makes me nervous.

Always call or email corporate. Just know this is one of the most anti-consumer companies around. They use every gimmick in the book to get you in and not have the advertised products in stock, knowing nearly 60% of rainchecks are not redeemed. You have to fine a "manager" to even get a raincheck. Also the biggest rip-off are the ones that claim to be free when you buy them and a "register rewards" coupon prints out for the purchase price. Well guess what, these items are usually not in stock and they DO NOT give rainchecks. When I questioned where the policy was printed they could not tell me. It says check the "register rewards" coupon for details. Please, someone tell me how to check the coupon for details when they don't have the product to get the coupon. I have talked with the district manager several weeks ago for the entire triangle area. She was very responsive though she did say some changes were possible to the register rewards program because of so much misunderst

lindalarry -- that happens to me all the time. Honestly -- I just use my RR at HT, it makes it a lot easier. I think they used to accept it per item but changed the registers to not accept it because the coupon = 2 items then you can't use another one.

Question for Faye: So I was in the Smithfield store this afternoon and bought 2 Colgate toothpastes and 2 Keebler Pecan Cookies (rain check from last week). Cookies were 2/$3.00 with RC.

I used 2 - $.50 coupons for the toothpaste and 1 - $1/2 for the cookies. I tried to use a $2.00 rewards that had just printed from the St. Joseph aspirin (separate transaction and it would not take the reward coupon. The manager said it was because I had too many items, which I had 4 items and had only used 3 coupons -- the rewards would have made 4. Then he said it was because the coupon for the cookies required me to buy 2 boxes. According to how I read the coupon policy, I had 4 items and should have been able to use 4 coupons.

Help Faye, was I wrong or should I call corporate? I told him I was going to call corporate and I got his name. I was not rude but told him I did not understand and never had a problem like that in Clayton.

I try to follow the rules but really don't understand this

Egg price is great but my Walgreens was stocked with cartons that expire 2/8/2012. Very close dated. :(

Eggs! Yay! I don't have patience for WAGs reward program, but I definitely plan to get my limit on the eggs.

Time to buy some more eggs :-) 99 cents per dozen is a great price!
