Food Lion deals 2/1 - 2/7

Posted February 1, 2012

Food Lion is offering another week of their Store Brand Super Sale (with a great deal on yogurt), a Unilever Deal, a 3-Day sale and some good buys on Huggies, split chicken breasts, ground chuck, spiral sliced ham, tilapia, Palermos pizza and more! These deals are valid 2/1 – 2/7.

Food Lion Coupon Basics

Food Lion does not double coupons

They have no limits on number of coupons they will take, unless specified in the ad

BOGO items ring up at half price so if you only buy 1, it rings at half price. You can use a coupon on each BOGO sale item.

E-Coupons: You can now load manufacturer’s coupons to your Food Lion MVP card and when they scan your card at the register and you buy the qualifying items, the discount will come off automatically. I spoke with corporate and they confirmed that these are manufacturer’s coupons and not to be combined with hard copy manufacturer’s from the newspaper and other sources. She said their policy is only coupon per product. No e-coupons will double. Click HERE for more information.

Unilever Deal: Save $5 instantly when you spend $15 on participating Unilever products OR Save $10 instantly when you spend $30 on participating products. Products must be purchased in a single shopping trip when you use your MVP card through 2/7. There are a variety of participating Unilever products in the ad including Hellman’s mayo, Shedd’s Spread, Dove products and more. Knorr Rice or Pasta Sides are $1. Use the .50/2 coupon from 1/29 RP to make them .75 each. That’s really the only buy that stands out to me and they were a better deal last week at Harris Teeter.

Store Brand Super Sale: Sale runs January 11 – February 7, 2012

Buy 4 store brand items, Save $1 off next order (in the form of a coupon for $1 off your next order. You do not save $1 on that transaction)
Buy 6 store brand items, Save $1.50 off next order
Buy 8 store brand items, Save $2.00 off next order
Buy 10 store brand items, Save $2.50 off next order
Buy 20 store brand items, Save $5.00 off next order
Buy 40 store brand items, Save $10.00 off next order
Basically, you save .25 off each item after reward (it does not come off at the register during that transaction) when you buy in the multiples listed above. During this promotion, you can usually find some cheap deals on things like yogurt, hot dog buns, mustard, BBQ sauce.

The deal I like most with this promo (and one I have done many times in the last 2 weeks that it has been running) is to buy 8 yogurt cups for .22 each. The total before tax is $1.76 and then you get a coupon to use on your next order for $2.00. If you get another 8 in the next transaction and 1 Kool Aid packet for .25, your total is only a couple pennies at the register AND you get another $2 coupon to use on your next order. Love that deal!

Noticed that Marie Callendar's Bakes are onsale for $4.99 . The Marie Callendar's website has a 1.00 of one, which makes them $3.99. I didn't think that was too bad.

Just got home from FL: The yogurt went up here too, to .45.

Also, the Hunt's tomatoes deal includes Ro-Tel tomatoes as well, which can make it a better brand canned tomatoes were still cheaper even with the coupon, though, especially with the "super sale" deal going on.

When I bought Pillsbury crescent rolls on sale 2/$4, both the electronic coupon and the hard copy coupon I had worked (2/.50 electronic and 2/.40 hard copy). That was nice.

If your store still has them for 22 cents, get 6 yogurts and 2 frozen burritos. It comes to $2 +tax, - $2 store coupon, which will negate the tax. Repeat.

My family loves frozen burritos, and it's one of the vegetarian friendly foods most of my house will eat, so I can stock up with wanton disregard without annoying anyone.

Noooooooooooooooo................ I had planned to get in there last weekend for more free yogurt and ran out of time. I'll check at my FL today and report back. I have $6.50 in FL catalinas to roll into free yogurt. They may go to live in a Harris Teeter or Lowes Foods register if they did raise the yogurt price. ;-)

They raised the price of yogurt at my FL from .22 to .45 2 days ago :(
