Food Lion deals 1/11

Posted January 11, 2012

Food Lion has some good buys this week on apples, split chicken breasts, and store brand products with the Store Brand Super Sale promotion running through February 7th. These deals are valid 1/11/2012- 1/18/2012.

Food Lion Coupon Basics

Food Lion does not double coupons

They have no limits on number of coupons they will take, unless specified in the ad

BOGO items ring up at half price so if you only buy 1, it rings at half price. You can use a coupon on each BOGO sale item.

E-Coupons: You can now load RedPlum.com manufacturer’s coupons to your Food Lion MVP card and when they scan your card at the register and you buy the qualifying items, the discount will come off automatically. I spoke with corporate and they confirmed that these are manufacturer’s coupons and not to be combined with hard copy manufacturer’s from the newspaper and other sources. She said their policy is only coupon per product. No e-coupons will double. Click HERE for more information.

Faye, I noticed that Food Lion has Charmin on sale for $5.99, including a 9 roll mega roll pack. This is what I usually buy, it works the best IMO. This also seems like a good price for Charmin because everywhere else I see it for $8+. I believe there is also a $0.25 off coupon, which I know doesn't double at Food Lion, but it is saving $0.25! What do you consider a good "buy" price for Charmin mega roll packs?

Thanks friends for the stuffed peppers recipes. I'm going shopping this weekend so I can put them on the menu!

I just checked the corporate website, and there are indeed 3 stores closing here in NC-- one in Cary, one in Weaverville, and one in Hendersonville. If you go to foodlion.com. Here is the link to it: http://d1pmybhtyfsbgv.cloudfront.net/Assets/Docs/corporate/Delhaize_America_Store_Closings.v-2-1-2948-0.pdf

I tricked my husband Monday morning. I used Butterball Turkey sausage. He asked if I used a different sausage (looks a little different) and I said yes. Later told him that it was turkey sausage and he said it was ok and that he would eat it again. Seems like if I tell him before, he is more apt to not even try it (my children are the same way). Me, I'll try about anything, especially if it is better for you. Even gonna try some of the Tofu on sale at HT this week.

Dry onion soup mix will add to the flavor

@40andtired: I stuff with Morningstar Veggie Crumbles and whole grain brown rice. Cook crumbles first in about a teaspoon or so of olive oil with my spices. I also tend to boil my peppers just about 3 minutes before stuffing then pour a can of tomato soup over peppers and bake. I trick my husband by using the veggie crumbles.... poor fellow can't tell the difference...lol!!

40andtired, I usually stuff with rice, beef, salt pepper, garlic if you like (cook rice first) simmer in tomato sauce and onion, but other people stuff with beef, bread crumbs, onion, etc. look at allrecipes.com for ideas.
