Starting today, January 11, there is a new daily deals site from WRAL and Capitol Broadcasting called SaveCity.com. The site offers great Buy One Get One Free deals, ½ off deals, free appetizer with meal purchase deals, buy 1 get 1 for 50% off deals and more! I really like that many of the deals come from small local businesses here in the Triangle.

The aspect I am most excited about with SaveCity.com is that it is FREE – you don’t have to buy these deals upfront so there’s no buyer’s remorse if you forget to use it before it expires. Most other daily deal sites require that you buy the discount upfront and if you don’t get a chance to use it, you have lost the money you spent to buy the deal. With SaveCity.com, there is no money spent to get the deal so you won’t lose anything if you don’t get a chance to use the deal.

When a new deal becomes available you can see it on SaveCity.com and you will also get an e-mail about it. If you want the deal, just grab it by adding it to your SaveCity.com account. When you are ready to use the deal, you can show the e-mail or text confirmation, which is a nice little “show and save” green feature or print the deal and bring it in.

Deals are generally good for 90 days. There is no maximum number of different deals you can request.

There is also an iPhone app. With this app, you can grab any deal that is active, not just the deal for the day.

SaveCity.com will be releasing multiple new deals per week for various businesses from pizza restaurants to florists to massages.

Make sure you read the restrictions before you go to use the deal. Some deals good only for lunch or are not good on weekends or not valid on sale items. It varies from deal to deal so, like all deal sites, read the fine print.
