Thanks, nc educator and Faye for the extra tips about shopping at Aldi. I ran in there to get some avocados a few weeks ago (as my first time shopping there) and I took my 1-year old with me. I couldn't figure out how to get a cart out (now I know thanks to you) so I toted my little guy in and out as quickly as possible. Since we only got the avocados I didn't notice the bag now I'll be better prepared next time I go.

I have been an Aldi's convert for several years. I really like their low prices and ease of getting in and out of their store. Aldi does provide bags for those that do not have any with them. They are at a minimal cost. They have paper, plastic, reusable and insulated. You can also grab an empty box if you see one in the store. I have had to buy a couple of bags when I filled up the ones I had brought. As far as bringing a quarter...I try to keep at least a $1's worth in the car just for those trips. Sometimes a customer going into the store will hand you their quarter for your buggy so you don't have to go all the way back to hook-up your buggy. Also, I have seen some pretty neat ideas for unloading your groceries without bags. One lady had 3 large plastic sturdy baskets with handles in the back of her SUV. She left all of her groceries in the buggy, pushed the buggy to her car, then unloaded everything into her baskets. Might not be so great in bad weather, but I thought i

I added a few reminders in the post above about ALDI after your experience, nceducator. They also don;t take credit cards or checks - only cash, debit and EBT.

LOL - it is surprising if you don't realize the cart and bag thing. Maybe I should indicate that on the weekly post. Thanks for the idea, nceducator!

I got a pineapple from them this weekend and it was 99 cents and was very tasty! I was shocked though that you had to deposit a quarter to get a cart, which I didn't have on me. So, I went in there and carried some stuff in my arms only to realize when I checked out that they don't do bags either! LOL time I will bring a quarter and my own bags...they had some great deals on produce. I am a fan.
