Oxymoron - that's really helpful. I know that you can't use them for other things with rewards bucks and still get the rewards back (I learned this the hard way). The other things I buy at Staples are mostly things with at least a partial rebate (love the paper deals!). Thanks for the info!

Rewards at Staples expire either 60 or 90 days (don't remember atm) after issuance.

I am in the process of testing the result of rewards used on Easy Rebate items, but if past performance of other coupons (I used a 15% off coupon on a rebate item, which meant I paid less than the rebate amount, and I still got back the full rebate) is a predictor, using Staples rewards should NOT reduce your rebate.

Like I said, I'm testing this right now. I had a $1 oddball reward issue, and I tossed it in when I bought a bunch of stuff that was free after rebate. The rebate is still pending, so I cannot fully confirm that it works this way, but I suspect it does from my other Easy Rebate experience.

Maybe someone else can answer this definitely. I could find no definite answer, that's why I'm testing. :D

Staples Rewards experts, I have 2 questions:
    1. When do rewards usually expire?
    2. Can I use rewards bucks on items with rebates and still get the full rebate?

I see so that is really different than easy rebates then. I just usually don't shop there that much unless they have something I want w/a rebate. Sometime in the fall I'll usually go by there and get the 2 free reams of paper w/rebate while my SIL gets all the little one subject notebooks she needs for her class.

HappyGirl, Staples rewards are like store credit. You won't get them immediately. They tally them monthly, at the end of the month, and if you've earned $10 in a calendar quarter, they will issue rewards the next month. So rewards you earn this month will be issued mid to late January.

You can't "roll" Staples rewards the way you roll drugstore rewards. Staples will issue rewards upto what you paid, in real money, for items. So, if I use my rewards earned in November (due to be issued in the next 7-10 days) on Duracell batteries, I will be reducing what I pay for them in real money, and only get back my actual cash spent in future rewards.

    Does that make sense?

I got an email about this deal in mid-November. They're offering 2 packs of Duracells, AA or AAA, every week until the end of the year, free after rewards. The expiration date I've been finding have all been 2018, so stocking up isn't really an issue.

This is for rewards that go towards merchandise in the store -- we have loved it but we go there a lot :)

Do they give you a $$ back, or do you have to spend the rewards in the store? Usually when I do an easy rebate for them its just $$ or a gift card to spend where ever. This sounds different.
