Food Lion Coupon Basics

Food Lion does not double coupons

They have no limits on number of coupons they will take, unless specified in the ad

BOGO items ring up at half price so if you only buy 1, it rings at half price. You can use a coupon on each BOGO sale item.

E-Coupons: You can now load RedPlum.com manufacturer’s coupons to your Food Lion MVP card and when they scan your card at the register and you buy the qualifying items, the discount will come off automatically. I spoke with corporate and they confirmed that these are manufacturer’s coupons and not to be combined with hard copy manufacturer’s from the newspaper and other sources. She said their policy is only coupon per product. No e-coupons will double. Click HERE for more information.

Meh... food lion should get with every other large retail grocery store and start doubling coupons, etc... and maybe they would get more business. I normally only shop at F.L when they have an extremely good deal on items (steaks, pepsi, etc). If they would double coupons.. I would shop there A LOT more!

i printed the coupons with redeem at publix today and my food lion in rocky mount, nc would not accept them... i told them they were manufacturers coupons, but since they said redeem at publix they would not take them, any one else having this problem???

shangr, I would carry the ad that has it for 45/lb into any of those stores and make sure I got that price then :) I'm stubborn that way - I would make sure they honored their ad and if they stubbornly refused, I'd be on the phone with corporate when I got home.

  • shangr Nov 16, 2011

Interesting Nancy. I just checked the back page of the ads and BOTH ads say "Prices in this ad good at stores conveniently located in these cities: Cameron, Clinton, Dunn, Fayetteville, Hope Milles, Mount Olive, Newton Grove, Roseboro, Spring Lake, Stedman." Oh, and yes, the ads spelled Hope Mills wrong.

shangr, check your ad and the one from the FO to see the different stores listed on the ad, if you can find one nearby that offers the 45/lb - it's crazy something like that item is not consistent at all the stores though. I hate when chains do that, very confusing.

  • shangr Nov 16, 2011

I picked up my ad with the .59/lb turkey from the Rosehill Rd. Food Lion in Fayetteville. However, a friend of mine gave me the ad from the Fayetteville newspaper and it had the .45/lb. turkey.

shangr - The ad I have is for the Raleigh area, but does not include Durham. It indicates the Jennie-O is .45 with $35 purchase. Where do you live? There are often different prices in different areas. Sorry yours is more. I don't see Durham or Chapel Hill on the list of stores for this ad so not sure what the price is for turkey in those ads.

  • shangr Nov 16, 2011

I'm staring at my foodlion ad right now and it says 59 cents a lb for a Jennie-O turkey with a minimum of $35.00 purchase. NOT 45 cents.

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Nov 16, 2011

LAXmom - I don't see a list of participating products on the Food Lion website. They are not making it easy to get excited about this promo. The participating products in the ad include Breyers (BOGO), Knorr rice and pasta sides ($1 each), Wishbone dressing, Klondike bars, Shedd's spread margarine tub and that's it.

  • Faye Prosser - Smart Shopper Nov 16, 2011

Lisa, I added the Unilever promo to the deals above but I didn't add it earlier because it's hard to make a good deal out of it. The Unilever products in the ad are not the best prices. If you get the Jennie-o (not the more expensive butterball) you may be able to make a deal out of it if there are other participating Unilever items in the store. It should work with the .45/lb turkeys as long as you have 30 in Unilever purchases and a total of $35 in addition to the turkey.
