rayne0524 - I don't think Walmart is going to match the Black-Friday prices. Can someone verify

I have to agree, at least it isn't christmas where it is a holiday where typical traditions last into the night, I think most people have late lunch or dinner plans, then the tryptophan kicks in and everyone is lured into a nice cozy sleep ;)

And as far as employees, I think working the wee hours of black friday/ late night thanksgiving is a "given" when you go into into retail, just as working Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Valentines Day (etc... haha) are in the restaurant business... Even then I've worked thanksgiving for those who don't like to cook, but I was happy to have a job :)

Wanted to share something I saw on tv today with all of you. Walmart is offering to match prices & even put the difference on a Walmart gift card. This could possible mean a little extra for Christmas shopping.

"I am a night owl anyway so shopping at midnight doesn't phase me at all." - Faye

Can I call that an understatement :)

Me too though, much prefer to stay awake and knock it out then come home and veg out and enjoy leftovers :)

ma23kids was that really called for? No one said that they didn't like anything. Be an adult, that was so childish. I ONLY STATED THAT THEY ARE TAKING PEOPLE AWAY FROM FAMILY TIME AND DO KNOW THAT IT IS YOUR CHOICE TO GO OUT WHEN YOU PLEASE. BUT I CHOOSE TO STAY HOME WITH MY FAMILY TO CREATE MEMORIES THE SELLS WILL BE THERE BUT MY CHILD WILL GROW UP AND I DON'T WANT HER TO REMEMBER MOMMY HAD TO CUT DINNER AND FAMILY TIME SHORT TO RUN DOWN A SELL. YOU MUST NO BE CLOSE TO YOUR FAMILY, BUT TO EACH HIS/HER OWN.

I agree happygirl. We are done with Thanksgiving festivities well before midnight so if I was planning to brave the Black Friday shopping, I would prefer to do it at midnight vs getting up at 2 am to go out. I am a night owl anyway so shopping at midnight doesn't phase me at all. I would not be missing any family time because the kids would be fast asleep in their warm beds and I would be scoring their holiday gifts while I am still awake. The 3 and 4 am store openings were horrible because I am not as easily able to get up and go at that time. Plus, with a midnight opening, I would be home long before the kids got up. BUT - I am pretty much done with all the holiday shopping for this year so I will be soundly sleeping at 3 am on Black Friday. I will be doing the drug store black friday shopping on Thursday and possibly some online shopping. But no long lines and parking mess this year for me. Good luck to all of you embarking on the Black Friday adventure!

Well, I am usually out by 3 or 4am. Looks like I'll be out by midnight this year. OH well...that's ok. The sooner I'm done the sooner I can sleep! ha!

If you don't like the fact that stores are opening early, STAY HOME!
