Harris Teeter deals 11/9

Posted November 9, 2011

Harris Teeter has some great deals this week including FREE Domino brown sugar, FREE Texas Pete hot sauce, asparagus for $1.49/lb, milk for $2.97 a gallon and more! You'll also find turkey for .47/lb with an additional $40 purchase. They are also offering a military discount on Friday!

Harris Teeter Coupon Policy Basics:

Doubles coupons .99 or less everyday

Doubles up to 20 coupons per day

Doubles up to 3 identical coupons (must have required product to go with each coupon)

BOGO sales ring up at half price. If you just buy one, it still rings up at half price. The policy has recently changed and now states that you can only use two coupons on a BOGO deal. So, if you buy 2 items that are BOGO, you can use two coupons (which is a very good thing!).

Senior discount: Seniors 60 and older receive a 5% discount every Thursday. Discount applies after coupons are deducted.

e-coupons: Don’t forget to add the e-coupons to your Harris Teeter VIC card and remember, you can stack the e-coupons with manufacturer coupons to maximize savings. The link to your e-coupons are in your Wednesday e-Vic e-mail or you can access them through your account at HarrisTeeter.com.

Military Discount: Members of the military get 11% off on Friday, November 11, 2011 when they show their personal military ID and VIC card. Offer does not apply to stamps, alcohol, tobacco, and gift cards. Discount applies after all coupons are deducted.

EVIC: There are 2 e-Vic specials this week including:

Bertolli pasta sauce 15-24 oz., $1.47, limit 2

Bertolli Extra Virgin olive oil, 17 oz., $3.97, limit 1

Asparagus, $1.49/lb – this is a very good price for asparagus!

Broccoli Crowns $1.69/lb

Florida navel oranges, 8 lb bag $5.99

HT Turkey, frozen, 10-24 lb., .47/lb with additional $40 purchase. I bought over $40 worth before coupons on Wednesday and after coupons the total was less than $40. My turkey rang up at .47/lb. As long as the subtotal is $40 before coupons, you should still get the .47/lb price.

White shrimp $3.99/lb

Tilapia fillets $3.99/lb

Gorton’s grilled fillets including salmon, tilapia and more, BOGO for $2.19 to $2.59 - $1/2 printable coupon HERE = $1.69 to $2.09

Mama Lucia meatballs, 25.6 oz, BOGO for $4.49 (comes out to $2.76/lb for ready to heat and eat meatballs)

Dairy & Frozen

Yoplait yogurt parfaits with granola $2 - .75/1 coupon from 10/2 GM = .50 each (it’s a 2-pack so they are .25 per individual cup – a good price for these)

Pillsbury biscuits, crescents and cinnamon rolls $1.00 – various printable .50/2, .30/2 and .40/2 coupons HERE and insert coupons from 10/23 SS, 10/2 GM and 9/11 GM
Total after .50/2 coupon = .50 each

Harris teeter buttermilk biscuits, jumbo, 16 oz BOGO for .79

Pizza dough balls, white or wheat, .99 each
These are found in the deli and are great! We use the wheat ones a couple times a month. I freeze them when they are .99 and thaw and use for homemade whole wheat pizza. I thaw, spread on pizza stone, put a light coating of olive oil and herbs on the crust and bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes. Then I add the sauce, toppings and cheese and bake for another 10 minutes or so until done. So tasty!

Sargento cheese shredded, 8 oz., BOGO for $1.77 - .40/2 coupon from 11/6 SS = $1.37
Other places in the country got a .55/2 coupon which makes the cheese $1.22 each
I ordered mine from thecouponclippers.com found HERE. It’s a coupon clipping site out of Florida and they often have higher value coupons because they don’t double coupons in that area. I have been ordering from them for over a decade and they are probably one of the largest and most professional coupon clipping services in the country. When I want multiples of specific coupons, it is less expensive to order the coupon in bulk (5 or 10 of the coupon) vs buying 5 or 10 copies of the paper.

Minute Maid juice, 59 oz $2.50 - $1 printable coupon HERE = = $1.50

Milk, 1 gallon, $2.97 – a good deal

Smart Balance milk 64 oz $3.00 - $1.50 coupon from 10/9 SS = $1.50 (Basically the same as the $2.97/gallon HT milk price this week). It was free last week during super doubles, but they were out of it after the first day at in many stores. The coupon expires on 11/23, so this is a good price on this milk with the coupon.

Yikes! I just had the same problem as superquaid- Is there a campbells cream of chicken and cream of mushroom that isn't considered part of the "Great for Cooking"?

  • Nancy Nov 10, 2011

superquaid - it excludes the "Great For Cooking" soups, that's why it didn't print.

  • superquaid Nov 10, 2011

I just came back from Harris Teeter and bought 6 cans of mushroom/chicken soup, but I did not get a Catalina. The person in customer service said they were not aware of one for this sale. Is this being done at all Harris Teeter stores?

  • Nancy Nov 10, 2011

msleep - my coupon is the same for Domino brown sugar as yours, but 50 cents isn't shabby if you need it for holiday cooking. Regular price is $1.35, so that's a savings of 67% :)

  • Nancy Nov 10, 2011

Ok, I'm done, really, really done LOL All I need between now and Thanksgiving are the fresh produce items and of course, turkey breast if they go on sale.

I wasn't able to get 2 turkeys at 47/lb but that's ok too! I ended up paying 73 cents for my turkey and required $40 purchases (used $13 in ECB's) so I feel good about that. But I'm sooooooooooo done shopping at HT LOL

I even told the manager, Bao, that he better stop having good sales, that I have a life outside of his store LOL He laughed at me! I told him he was evil :) I do love that staff, they are like friends and it's always fun!

  • msleep63 Nov 10, 2011

I checked my coupon for the dominos brown sugar and mine is for .50 off of two which would make it $1.00 for 2 boxes. Faye is this still a good deal?

  • Nancy Nov 10, 2011

You rock earlychd!!! Sometimes the stars just line up - I know I've not read fine print sometimes and had things work like that for me and realize it later!!!

  • earlychd99 Nov 10, 2011

Nancy,I just read where the ad states one turkey for .47 a lb. I was there to get two turkeys, so didn't read the fine print but was happy when I got both for .47 a lb. read my receipt to make sure and yes they both rang up at the sale price.

  • Nancy Nov 10, 2011

steph, you are TOO kind! I'm all good though, I know there will be other turkey deals around, I just feel it in my old bones LOL

And like you, I beat the aisles down at HT during SD's and really struggled to come up with $40 worth of groceries to buy :) BUT, I did, so I'll get that turkey :) And I expect WM might come through with a lower price before T'giving, if not, 74/lb isn't toooo bad.

Watching and waiting for decent prices on turkey breasts now :)

  • stephlw Nov 10, 2011

Nancy -- if you need more turkeys I could meet you at the store someday and you could get some on my card too ;) We are not cooking this year and so I don't need to buy a turkey. I don't think I need any groceries though! I got way too much during SD :)
