Had a great experience with Cartridge World today. I am still behind the times and I have an inject printer that flies through ink, and I was printing coupons last night only for my black ink to run out :( I thought I had a back up, only to realize I had 2 extra color cartridges (no black), so I went to Cartridge world for the first time, and it was only 8.99 for the black cartridge!! (11.99 for the tri color) I have a really common HP 3-in-1 printer, so I didn't even have to wait, I handed him my empties, and he reached in a drawer and handed me filled ones! My coupons have printed great! I know I have spent $20 a piece at office supply stores for ink cartridges in the past, so I thought I would pass it along :) Each printer had a different price, so you may want to call first, but I was super happy!!!

"Nancy, care to share your recipe for the applesauce?"

So easy! Peel, cut up (remove core) pieces of apple, toss in a large pot (no liquids needed) and as I dump apple pieces in the pot after peeling and cutting up each one, I sprinkle with cinnamon. It takes about 10#'s of apples to fill a 6 quart pot.

I put a lid on, turn on low/med low temp and stir it once in a while as they start to cook down. When the apples are tender and break up easily, it's done!

Pour into a large bowl and I use a large tined meat fork to break them up (some prefer an applesauce with less chunkiness, we like it more chunky). You can use a potato masher for a finer sauce.

Then I vacuum seal it and into the freezer the bags go :) You can freeze them in freezer bags, lay them flat until they're frozen and it makes them store neatly :)

"Canning applesauce and apple pie filling, I paid 1.00/lb for Cortland Apples at BJ's - does anyone know where I can get them for less? Fuji, Gala, etc Thank you!"

I bought 40 lbs of Fuji apples at the Farmer's Market in Raleigh for $28 bucks - they're wonderful!!! I'm almost done turning them into applesauce :)

Does anybody know what the amount of the groceries were in that big grocery basket at the fair. You had to guess it for a $300 Harris Teeter gift card, but I never found out how much it was/
