"@ncsualum: I ordered one paper, then ordered two more... it took about 6-7 weeks for all three of my papers to be delivered, and multiple calls and redeliveries each week, before everything was straightened out. If you can, get N&O customer service to give you the direct phone # to the area distribution center; the person who answers is in charge of the delivery people." - des

Yes, if you are having weekly problems with your delivery, I talked to the Home Delivery Manager for Wake County, Sherry Thomas and you can call her direct @ 836-5954 She was very helpful and easy to talk to :) We had a great discussion about the theft of papers issues they've been facing at stores and in boxes etc.

Hi Cece, Your Lowes Foods may be transitioning into a JustSave store. Lowes Foods has done this with a number of stores in NC. Here is an article I wrote about it in May:

The JustFoods stores do not double coupons and they offer many homegrown products and some items at a lower price point. They will also have a Dollar Spot with items priced at a buck. They will NOT double coupons and you will need to get a new JustSave rewards card. Your Lowes Foods card will not work at the new store.

For more information on the JustSave chain, go to this link:

CVS has an advisory panel that you can join to take surveys a few times a year and earn $10 in ECB's if you qualify ($3 if you take the survey and don't qualify). Sounds like easy ECB's to me, plus a chance to give feedback.

thanks jcrownel,I did. It is just saying you would like to be contacted about insurance and you pick which way--email, phone, etc and we are already with State no biggie.

Hope you read the fine print before giving all you're personal information.

Has anyone else heard that Lowes is planning on stopping their double couponing? I was here purchasing my campell's soup deals and the manager said that after they redid the asiles and store they wouldn't be honoring and double coupons.....Oh well off the Kroger i go....LOL Cece from Henderson

HT in Wilson is offering buy one, get one free on the new Dr. Pepper Ten. I used the coupon from 10/9 for a free Dr. Pepper Ten and received 2 drinks free.

Thanks North Raleigh Dad -- I wasn't that bothered by today's because the two inserts I had were the coupons I really wanted. Went and bought 2 more papers because of some upcoming sales that I wanted multiple coupons for.

Okay, so I was not sure where to post this's a deal at the state fair...Near gate 9 there is a State Farm Insurance area...a must to if you have kids. First, if you fill out a form about insurance (your name, address, phone number, email, etc), you pick a free prize (sunglasses, water bottle, bag, etc).

Then take the kids to the FREE spin art. There they pick out the color of frisbee they would like. Then the frisbee goes in this thing that spins it while your child squeezes different colors of paint on it. It turns out really cool.

Then go to the FREE face what normally cost quite a bit (tiger face, etc.--where they do the checks, around the eyes, nose, etc.).

Then go to the free balloon artist. She will give your kids a choice of a sword, flower, or puppy.

There is a booth for you to sniff scents, but not really for kids.

We just happen to stumble upon it after the Hog Race (another must do.).

Just a note for those who are/were missing inserts from the N & O. If you call the N & O Subscription Services at (800)522-4205 between 7am and 11am on Sunday, they will have a new paper delivered to you at no charge. I have done this a couple of times. Not to get extra inserts but to get what I paid for.
