Someone a few days ago asked about tires. I've found that Sams Club and Discount Tire had the best prices, the last 3 times I've gotten tires. I buy fairly expensive ones that are over $400 at most places, but at these two places, I've always gotten a set of 4 for about $300. Sams Club usually has rebates on one tire brand or another that gets you $50 to $100 off a set. Discount Tire usually has rebates running, too. They also match deals from other places (I use the Discount Tire on Six Forks).
I like these two places because rotating, balancing, stems, road hazard, etc. are included. When you get tires online i.e. tirerack, you have to find a place to get all this done and especially if you rotate them like you should, it ends up costing a lot more. Unless you or a friend can do the maintenance yourself.

"Nancy, do you use your foodsaver for soup? I have often thought about buying a foodsaver, and if it can be used for soup, pasta sauce, and other liquidy things, it might just be the push I need to get one. Can you use the bags for soup or do you need a special container?"

See prior post :) I have been using the new one successfully for broth and soup already, I find that by 'hanging' the bag off the edge of the counter when I set it to "moist" and then vacuum, it works best. Gravity helps.

But any vacuum sealer can be used for liquids if you flash freeze first in a container, then pop it frozen out of the container and vacuum seal :)

I even vacuum seal pounds of butter that way too. Anythat that the vacuum process might crush or alter in ways I'm not wanting, I flash freeze for a few hours first.

"I have a foodsaver and I love it. I wouldn't recommend storing liquids in the bags as they pull the liquid when they vacuum. " - always

My newest one has "dry/moist" settings and allows you to vacuum seal liquids in the bags! Very cool! I've been doing soup broth and applesauce. But you can freeze anything prior then vacuum seal frozen too, that's what I used to have to do.

Of course I also flash freeze bread then vacuum seal in bags so they don't get crushed but get a very good vacuum to keep freezer burn away.

I have used the foodsaver for liquids and soups. But I did find that if I freeze them first then seal in a bag it does better. Also, mine has a button asking if it is wet or dry.

munecachina -I got the John Freida deal at walgreens. I purchased 3 different items from the brunette collection. I used one $3 off 2 and $1 off any coupon. Each item was $6.99. After the $10 coupon for buying over $20 worth I only spent about $7 on the 3 items.

The best thing about it is that I went over to HT after and bought 2 suave products for women,3 Gillette body washes for the hubby and 6 suave for kids, used the BOGO coupons and the $10 reward and got it all free! I even had to buy gum so that my total would be more than $10 before they scanned the $10 reward!
