Food Lion deals 10/12

Posted October 12, 2011

There is a new deal at Food Lion this week: The Big Deal Promotion. There are some very good buys with the promo on Yoplait Greek yogurt, Pillsbury Breakfast Sandwiches, and more!

Food Lion Coupon Basics

Food Lion does not double coupons

They have no limits on number of coupons they will take, unless specified in the ad

BOGO items ring up at half price so if you only buy 1, it rings at half price. You can use a coupon on each BOGO sale item.

E-Coupons: You can now load manufacturer’s coupons to your Food Lion MVP card and when they scan your card at the register and you buy the qualifying items, the discount will come off automatically. I spoke with corporate and they confirmed that these are manufacturer’s coupons and not to be combined with hard copy manufacturer’s from the newspaper and other sources. She said their policy is only coupon per product. No e-coupons will double. Click HERE for more information.

Just did the dove deal...6 shampoos/conditioners for $2.97. Most of it was tax and my cashier took off the sale price on the BOGO coupons so no extra for me.

Question: If there are 4 biscuit boxes left of the flavor you like... you take all 4 - is that considered shelf clearing?
There was about 20 boxes of the other flavor that I can't stand!

  • queene01 Oct 13, 2011

FYI- Make sure you get 10 or 20 BD items- not 15 like I did :( woops

You know, this brings up the difference between bad shelf clearing and the reality that someone, at some point, takes the last one of something and is technically clearing the shelf, even if they only took one.

Taking the last 10-20 single serving yogurts is a VERY different thing than taking the last 10-20 bottles of hot sauce. 20 yogurts is less than a week's consumption in many homes.

I know what you mean nceducator! That stuff is so expensive regularly. There was a bunch of it at my Food Lion today so I definitely did not clear any shelves, either.

I just got back from there...I felt guilty because I almost cleared the greek yogurt shelves : ) I love greek yogurt and used to buy it at TJ's for $3 for a tub that was equal to about 3 of the yoplait ones. So...25 cents is an awesome deal!

Pardon my many typos in the post below. Guess I got a little excited. LOL

Scored some great deals with the Food Lion promo today! I especially love the Yoplait Greek yogurt for .25 each after sale, promo and .50/2 coupon! The Pepsi Max is included so those were only .45 each and the Pillsbury egg biscuits (2 per box) are only .40 per box after sale, promo and $1.10 printable available on FYI - they have almost 300 calories and 16 grams of fat each. Not an everyday breakfast!

Also - be sure to scan your MVP card at the kiosk. I received a store coupon for BOGO Steamfresh Chef's Favorites. It did not indicates that it could nto be used with any other coupons and my store allowed me to use 2 .50/1 manuf. coupons. My total after store BOGO coupon and 2 manuf coupons was .50 each (a very good price!).

I also received a store coupon for Buy 2 Yoplait Greek Yogurts and Get 1 Free. I bought a total of 12 of the yogurts & used 6 manufacturer's coupons for .50/2. They also let me use the store coupon for B2G1 Free & the cashier took off $1 for it!
