Really, I have to hand it to anyone who gets up as early as Bill does - I remember once he and Lynda were collecting food at Crossroads and I had to take my brother to a Dr. appt - we got there at 8am and he was Mr. Sunshine LOL

I guess it's like police/fire/rescue, they work odd shifts and manage - I couldn't do it and be a decent human being ;)

Yup, we have a reputation in our neighborhood - we started it the year we moved here in '93 - the last couple years though we've had less than 50 kids :( Used to be around 70-80 ... but I notice a lot of folks darken their houses now too, never give out candy anymore.

Nancy, since Bill gets up to go to work well before the crack of dawn, it's a good thing you don't see him often (at least not at that hour!). It's simply uncivilized. I am such a night owl I would HATE to have to get up that early every day.

You really are the candy fairy if you hand out full size bars Nancy! Be careful or dentists everywhere will be boycotting outside your house! LOL

I love listening to the three of you, always sounds fun :)

Bill lives in our neighborhood, unfortunately I never see him much LOL

LOVE the Go Ceilings! idea, that cracked me up!!!

My thanks to nikbrow and tammypmerritt! I used your costume ideas that you posted in the coupon class giveaway thread on the air this morning! Bill loves the one about writing Go Ceilings on a shirt and now you are a ceiling fan! LOL

Starting around July, I start watching for great deals that match up with coupons for single size candies (chocolate bars, gum, starburst etc). I buy as many as I can during those great match ups and then store them away for halloween.

To keep them fresh, I vacuum seal 'like' candy/flavors in groups.

We have a reputation of giving out full size candy/gum, started when we moved here in '93 - we still are able to do that much cheaper than if we were to buy them at Costco, BJ's, Sam's etc.

Just that Rite Aid fun size m&m deal -- 25 cents for bag after UP, VV, and $1.50 off of 2 coupon!
