New daily N.C. State Fair discount to military

Posted September 16, 2011

Current & former U.S. military, including active-duty, reserve, National Guard, retired and veteran personnel, can enjoy a new daily discount to the State Fair this year!   The new military admission price is $5 every day of the N.C. State Fair, taking place from October 13 to October 23. Spouses and children with military IDs also will be eligible for the discount.

In order to receive the discounted tickets, you will need to present proof of military service at the gate on the day of your visit. These discounted tickets are not available online or in advance.

The fair will be having their Military Appreciation Day, with special activities and performances, on Wednesday, October 19.

Here's a great opportunity to donate some of those free and close to free products we get all the time: On Military Appreciation Day (10/19), you can bring items for military care packages to a drop-off location hosted by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans at Gate 8 of the fairgrounds.

I think they have already fixed the link, sunny, because when I click on the link it works just fine. Here is the link to the list of recommmended items to donate (you will need to copy and paste it into your browser):

I got an automatic reply to email that the web person will respond next week, so we may have an answer early next week. Faye, maybe you could get an answer to this more quickly.

Thanks for this info. I would like to donate to this, but the complete list of items they accept can't be found because of a "server error" on the State Fair website link. I'll try to notify them of this to see if they would correct this.
