Giveaway: Van's FREE product coupon!

Posted September 7, 2011

As many of you know, we eat a number of healthy choices in our meal plan each week including lean proteins (like tofu and chicken breast), whole grains, and plenty of fruits and veggies. We are also a very busy family with soccer practice, after-school band, chorus and more! I am always looking for tasty, easy  and healthy breakfast and snack options for the girls that won't break the bank. Sometimes I make them from scratch and sometimes I buy convenient options. That's where Van's comes in. They contacted me and offered to send some coupons for us to try some of their products.

I bought the Multigrain Waffles at Whole Foods in Cary and had them for breakfast yesterday. I toasted 2 waffles and put light butter and syrup on one and fat free strawberry cream cheese on the other. The girls  enjoyed the cream cheese waffle before I could even get a bite! At least they left me the other waffle.  In my book, the more fiber the better and this waffle was a winner in taste and fiber!  The toasted waffle was slightly crunch on the outside, but still soft in the inside, which I prefer. With all that fiber, it was definitely filling. Here are the specs on the Multigrain Waffles:

Serving size: 2 waffles

Calories: 180

Fat: 7 grams

Fiber: 6 grams

Sugars: 3 grams

Protein: 3 grams

Van's also introduced Muffin Crowns, in Triple Chocolate and Wild Blueberry, and Waffle Sticks, in chocolate and vanilla, earlier this year.  The Muffin Crowns are made with at least 7 grams of whole grains and contain 6 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein per serving, in 120 calories or less. They’re individually packaged and can be eaten oven toasted or simply thawed, so they’re great as a quick, portable breakfast or snack.

Van’s new Waffle Sticks have only 70 calories per serving, so they’re the perfect treat for calorie-counters. (And the vanilla are made with whole grains!) They’re dynamite toasted in the oven (or toaster oven) and dipped in Greek yogurt — and they are sized perfectly to fit in kids' hands, so they're a great treat on-the-go.

Right now, you can go to their Facebook Page for the coupon. and print out a $1 coupon when you Like them!

This giveaway is for 1 coupon for a FREE Van's Waffles, Waffle Sticks, Pancakes or French Toast Sticks (retail value up to $3.50)!

To enter, simply post a comment below sharing how you like to top your waffles. Are you a butter and syrup kind of person or do you prefer cream cheese or peanut butter or something else?

I will randomly chose a winner on Friday at noon and post the winning name soon after that.

Full disclosure: I was sent coupons to try the products as well and thoroughly enjoyed them!
