Tonight’s story is about Consumer Reports annual list of top vehicle picks in 10 categories. Testers look at many factors including safety, reliability, overall performance and even “creature features.”

But if you’re looking to get the overall best bang for you buck, Kiplinger – known for its personal finance advice – came up with its top picks of the cars that are the absolute Cheapest to Own.

They looked at everything from the cost of insurance to fees to fuel. They’re all a little too small for my liking, but I think the Kia Soul is kind of cute. And it’s even “recommended” by Consumer Reports!
