A great place to get INEXPENSIVE seasonal and holiday decorations and gadgets is in the ONE SPOT section at Target. Most everything is priced between $1 and $3. But some cute little Halloween flashlights that would seem perfect for kids to use while trick or treating are a real problem!

Target and the Consumer Product Safety Commission just announced a recall of about 610,000 of the flashlights because they can overheat and MELT—which obviously could burn the hands of the children holding them. Target says so far, they have had eight reports of flashlight meltdowns. At least one burned the user’s hand. The recall involves two types of Halloween-themed flashlights pictured below: mini flashlights and standard flashlights sold with six Halloween themed stencils. They come in orange and purple packaging and they’re all made in China. They were sold at Target stores nationwide from August 2009 through September 2009 for $1 for the mini flashlights and $2.50.
