Will money from a trust fund affect Medicaid?
Question: I am on WCHS Medicaid and getting money from a trust fund set up by my father before he died. My question is: Is this money going to affect the insurance; and is there any way to set up the collection of the money so as to not affect the insurance?
Answer: I am a little confused by your use of terms. Are you calling medicaid insurance-which is okay but unusual because hardly anyone calls or treats medicaid like insurance? I assumed that you had to fill out applications when you filed for medicad. WCHS (whatever that is) medicaid has or should or wants to advise you if you had a specific duty to report fact of your regular periodic payments now received from the trust fund. I am confused because from what you say it appears to be that you would already have the answer to your question. Have you omitted something from your question or is something else less than usual going on. I am not suggesting that you are doing anything wrong, just that the facts donn't seem to fit the usual situation? For example, is the trust fund making any insurance type payments or pay outs due to injuries or medical conditions?
