RALEIGH, N.C. — Four students were arrested after fights at two different Wake County schools on Thursday, police said.

Two students were taken into custody after a fight in the parking lot at Cary High School. The teenagers were involved in a fistfight, police said.

Two more students were arrested after a brawl at Wakefield High School on Thursday morning. That fight was gang-related, officers said.

No other students, teachers or school-resource officers were injured in either fight.

The fights in Wake came the same week that a melee broke out while hundreds of gathered on Durham's Northern High's football field on Monday morning. The students had been evacuated after a bomb threat.

One student was injured in the fight, and at least nine students have been arrested.

Authorities believe that fight broke out over a girl.
