31-year-old man struck and killed in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ — A 31-year-old man was killed in a hit and run collision early Tuesday morning, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The crash took place near 40th Street and Hearn Road sometime around 2:30 a.m.
40th Street was closed between Thunderbird Road and Acoma Drive while police investigated the deadly collision.
Miguel Arellano Chavez, 31, was only struck while standing in the roadway by a vehicle heading southbound and died from his injuries. The driver did not stay at the scene and has not been located.
Officers are looking through security footage as they investigate.
