Missing Chatham County 3-year-old found

A three-year-old who went missing from his Goldston home Wednesday afternoon has been found.

GOLDSTON, N.C. — A three-year-old who went missing from his Goldston home Wednesday afternoon has been found.

Jayston Gilliland walked away from his family home on Wilson Road with his dog at approximately 1:30 p.m. He was found at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Goldston Glendon Road, about 2 miles from where he was last seen. 

His dog was at his side when he was found.

The Goldston Fire Department, First Health of the Carolinas, state Highway Patrol, state Department of Adult Corrections K-9 unit, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit, Chatham County Emergency Operations 911 Center and volunteers assisted with the search.

"Teamwork is something we strive for daily. Today, teamwork paid off," said Chatham County Sheriff Richard Webster.
