3 people die in separate shootings in North Carolina city

— Police are investigating after three fatal shootings in North Carolina's third-largest city.

Local media reported the first shooting happened Thursday morning, the second Thursday afternoon and the third one about 11:30 p.m. at North Carolina A & T University.

Capt. Nathaniel Davis says there is no indication the shootings are related.

Campus police were called to a dorm by a woman who said she was approached by a man with handgun. Responding officers later found a man in a car in the dorm parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he died. His name has not been released.

Thirty-seven-year-old Larry Wayne Pratt was shot to death Thursday morning. Twenty-year-old James Will Johnson was killed Thursday afternoon.

No arrests have been reported.
