3 Injured in I-95 Crash

Posted May 27, 2007

— Three people were seriously injured in an accident that shut down parts of I-95 in Nash County on Sunday.

Troopers said a car lost control, ran off the road and struck two trees. The driver and front seat passenger are in critical condition. A passenger in the back seat is in serious condition.

All three are from Washington DC. Police do not think alcohol played a roll in the crash.

Traffic is moving once again on I-95.

The section from Kenly exit #106 to the Wilson exit #121 & beyond is litterally a race track. The speed limit changes northbound from 65 to 70 mph & everybody starts going 90+. We almost always get off onto 301 & head to Wilson/Rocky Mount area that way.

I do offer my prayers and best wishes to those injured. That said, it goes back to what I stated under another I-95 story out of Kenly. Nash, Johnston and Robeson always seem to bear the brunt of traffic accidents directly related to I-95. Hopefully we won't, but I would not be surprised to hear of something out of Robeson before the end of the holiday weekend.
