RALEIGH, N.C. — Three Enloe High School students won top awards in the regional finals of the Siemens Competition, the nation's premier high school science competition.

Vivek Bhattacharya, Hao Lian and Daniel Vitek developed a model to predict the efficiencies of particular gene sequences of e-coli that yield useful proteins.

The winners receive thousands of dollars in college scholarships. They are also invited to compete at the National Finals in New York City later in October.
