A 24-year-old man drowned in Jordan Lake Monday after disappearing near Parkers Creek Campground earlier in the day.
According to officials, the man went under the water while swimming with his friends in a designated area and didn't resurface for 20 minutes.

Officials say there are no currents in the area. They added that while the swimming area is corded off in order to prevent people from swimming in too deep of water, often times the cord is moved by swimmers.
