ROBBINS, N.C. — A 20-year-old Georgia man was jailed on July 4 under a $500,000 bond for the statutory rape of a 12-year-old from Moore County.

Moore County deputies received a report of a sexual assault of a child in February. During a four-month-long investigation, officials determined that Carlos Damian Dominguez-Perez, of Brunswick, Georgia, had fled out of state and was using multiple identities to avoid arrest.

Dominguez-Perez was arrested and charged with first-degree statutory rape and indecent liberties with a child. He first court appearance is scheduled for July 20.
