Posted October 4
Stress is making your head explode. Life is bogging you down. It seems like nothing will get you out of this all work and no play way of life. But there is adventure on the horizon.
Here are 20 reasons why travel is the perfect medicine to cure all of life’s ailments:
1. Stress free
It’s easy for stress to push you over the edge. Take a break from work or school or whatever may be causing you stress and go somewhere new. Traveling will help you focus on the here and now and just live in the moment.
2. The world is your classroom
What better way to learn about life than through travel? It’s the only way to really understand what it means to be human. No one life is the same. See the way other people live by visiting and learning from different cultures across the globe. The best way to learn is through experience and travel allows you to do so. Life is the teacher and the world is your classroom.
3. Open your eyes
See things and places you’ve never seen before. Travel will open your eyes to both the good and the bad parts of the world. It will expand your horizons. You cannot un-see what you have seen, motivating you to be a change for the better.
4. Changes you
You won’t be the same person you were when you started your trip. It can only change you for the better. Travel will help you to become the person you want to be.
5. Fuel your curiosity
Curiosity may have killed the cat but that doesn’t stop you. Fuel your curious tendencies by traveling all over the world to uncover the secrets of the universe.
6. Find meaning
Traveling will help you find meaning not only in life but help lead you to answers that you need. Being in nature or a place you’ve never been before allows you to discover more about yourself and uncover the meaning of who you are.
7. Make decisions for yourself
Traveling allows you to make your own decisions, without anyone telling you what you should or need to do. It’s up to you to decide where to go and what to do. You are in charge of your own destiny.
8. Exercise you want to do
The struggle to get out of bed in the morning and make it to the gym doesn’t exist when you travel. You rise with the sun and are ready to embark on an adventure. It’s the exercise you actually want to do.
9. Breath of fresh air (literally)
Traveling will allow you to get a breath of fresh air from the norm. Nothing is better than being able to escape the hustle and bustle of city living. Out in nature there is space for you to relax and breathe in some actual fresh air.
Nothing is more humbling than traveling somewhere different from the life you know. Seeing people living in circumstances different from your own is humbling and can only help you grow into a better person.
11. Feel alive
What better way to feel alive than through travel? Instead of being stuck in the same old routine, rarely leaving the house or going anywhere other than work, traveling will make you feel alive again. It will breathe new life into your restless soul.
12. Meet new people
Get out and meet new people everywhere you go. You can learn something from them. Each person you meet has a story to tell- listen and let them tell you their story. You never know if the next person you meet will become a lifelong friend.
13. Adventure of a lifetime
Planning the best trip can make for the adventure of a lifetime. But only you can make it so. Do things a little out of your comfort zone. Do things that you will tell stories about for the rest of your life. Make it one for the books.
14. Make positive memories
Not everything will go as planned. Weather and unforeseen circumstances can and will happen. Do your best to turn frustrating moments into happy ones. Nothing can ruin your trip except your attitude.
15. Share life experiences with friends and family
Bring people along with you. With close friends and/or family members, you can experience the world with the people you love most in life. You’ll be able to share life experiences with them that can never be replaced.
16. Traveling solo
Don’t bring people with you. Traveling solo will allow you to do something for yourself and not for others. It will be a much more personal experience and allow you to connect with your soul and meet interesting people all over the world.
17. Take a little risk
It’s not a bad thing to take a little risk now and then. Do something out of your comfort zone and go somewhere you wouldn’t normally. With a little risk comes a little fun.
18. See things from a new perspective
Your eyes will not only be opened, but you’ll see from a different perspective. As an outsider, you are able to see the world in a completely new and different way than someone else. That is why traveling is a completely personal and unique experience to have.
19. You’ll never be able to see it all
Even if you had all the money in the world, you will never be able to see all there is to see in this life. It just isn’t possible. That alone should be motivation enough to go out and see as much as you can.
20. Appreciate home a little bit more
When you’re away from home for a long time, traveling the world like you’ve always dreamed, you will miss home. The places you go and things you see will help you appreciate home just a little bit more. You’ll long for the familiarity of things, and your favorite furry friend. But once you get home, you can’t help but find a way to embark on your next great adventure.
