2-year-old killed while playing in roadway
The accident happened about 7:48 p.m., the North Carolina Highway Patrol said, when Roberta Flores, of Red Springs, was pulling into a private drive off Mohawk Drive.
Posted — UpdatedRED SPRINGS, N.C. — A 2-year-old girl was killed Wednesday evening near the Robeson County town of Red Springs after a man accidentally struck her.
The accident happened about 7:48 p.m. when a man, identified by the North Carolina Highway Patrol as Roberta Flores, of Red Springs, was pulling into a private drive off Mohawk Drive.
The child, whose name was not released pending notification of family, was playing in the roadway when she was hit, authorities said.
No charges have been filed.
