I feel badly for the family as well. I doubt that anyone in their right mind would will something like that to happen. It does make one wonder where the parents or adults were at that time of night and why their child was out in a street somewhere? hmmmmmmmmmmmm????

OK 1ST OF ALL WHERE WAS THIS CHILDS PARENTS, SHE WAS ONLY 2 YRS OLD AND PLAYING IN THE ROAD WAY...I MEAN COME ON...THE PARENTS COULD BE AT FAULT...THE MAN ALSO COULD HAVE LOOKED AND MAYBE TRIED TO AVOID THE INCIDENT, BUT STILL SHE WAS 2 AND PLAYING IN THE ROAD...I JUST CANT GET OVER THAT...HER PARENTS SHOULD HAVE KEPT HER IN THE YARD AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN WATCHING HER.

Well, this is horrible really but where were the adults. I KNOW kids move fast, and is possible to get out when they aren't looking. However, I would have hoped the adult would have been closer by than they obviously were.

Not all of the facts have been made public. Don't judge the parents until you know the facts.

This is a two-year old people and the child should have been watched. There is no excuse. Whether it was the parent, grand-parents, babysitter, family friend etc.; there is simply no excuse. No one was watching her and she was in the road and lost her life. I do not blame the drive, I blame the parties who was keeping her and should have been watching out for this child. May the Lord keep this child in His loving arms.

I just got in from putting flowers by my mailbox and read this. I am all sorts of angry anyways because despite the speed limit being 25 on our road, without exception, every driver that wizzed by my head was at least going 45! In a NEIGHBORHOOD! Why is it that people are so thoughtless now? We have tons of children and pets on our street and yet people still fly through. If you are in an area where you know that there could be children, pets, people taking a walk crossing the road, etc for goodness sake slow down! It's only a matter of time before this article is about my neighborhood!

There is something about the internet that makes people jerks. A child was accidentally run over, and many of you are calling for the parents to go to jail. Are you serious? If the parents weren't there, the most likely reason is because they had left the child in the care of a relative, friend or baby sitter.

As for neglect....you don't know the circumstances. Just about every parent has a story where they turned their head for a second and their kid took off. Fortunately, most of the time the result is just a horrible scare for the parents, but that is just luck.

Example - my sister put my nephew down for a nap. She waited for him to fall asleep and then started a chore she had been putting off - weeding the front flower beds. About 15 minutes later, she heard the back door slam shut. She walked around back to find my nephew already half way across the yard. If the positions were reversed, he could have been in the street by then.

Can we please find out the immigration status of Mr. Flores so I can get on my anti-immigration soapbox. Thank you.

First I am so sorry for this family .People this report doesn't give us enough imformation to start pointing fingers and blaming anyone,it says no name untill relatives (not parents) are notify and maybe the parents were walking compny to their car and the child pulled away as the vehicle was pulling into the drive.see you can make up unpreventable things just as easy as saying there was no body around don't throw blame untill we hear the whole story . RIP little one.

This is yet another article that is not clear. Was the child in the roadway or was she in the driveway? Was she supervised? Who was supposed to be watching her? This is so tragic. I feel for all involved.
