2-mile-long train moving again after getting stuck on tracks in downtown Fayetteville

A CSX train stuck on the tracks is blocking multiple intersections in downtown Fayetteville on Thursday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A CSX train stuck on the railroad tracks was blocking multiple intersections in downtown Fayetteville on Thursday morning.

According to Fayetteville police, the train suffered a mechanical failure and blocked the intersections of Blount, Rankin, Russell, Franklin, Hay, State Route 210, Moore, Chance, Cumberland and Ramsey streets.

The train was repaired by 7:15 a.m. and traffic was moving again.
