When I was a kid, I used to dream of getting locked in a toy store or the mall for a night. Think about it-I could play with all the toys that I wanted, even the ones my parents inexplicably never let me have (Barbie Power Wheels car, I’m looking at you). Plus, I would have a super-cool story for my friends once I got picked up in the morning.

Well, for two young boys in the U.K., that particular childhood fantasy recently became a reality, when they found themselves locked in a department store until 2 a.m.

The pair, who are believed to be 12 and 13, got locked inside of a Sainsbury’s superstore in Scotland, and they got up to exactly the kind of shenanigans you’d think kids their age in that situation would. The kids apparently were able to hide in the store’s clothing department, escaping the notice of any employees closing up shop for the night.

The boys were discovered by late-night workers, who found them attempting to make off with hundreds of dollars worth of food and booze. No word on what their punishment will be, although we can only imagine that their parents are not very pleased.

For their part, the store officials were surprised that security did not catch the boys sooner and will be taking extra precautions to ensure a similar incident does not occur again. A Sainsbury's spokesperson said: “We can confirm there was an incident at our East Kilbride store and we're supporting the police with their investigation.”

Although the boys’ parents and the store are taking the escapade seriously, people on Twitter were able to find some humor in the whole thing.

One user said that they wouldn’t mind getting locked in a store as an adult:

While another also felt the kids’ stunt was enviable:
