— Two teens were injured in a single-vehicle crash at Old Fairground Road and Old Stephenson Road Thursday afternoon.

Stephen Trulove, 17, and Allyson Rideout, 19, both of Benson, were taken to Wake Med with non-life threatening injuries. A baby, also in the vehicle, was treated and released.

Police said the teens were going too fast around a curve and lost control. The car crashed into a tree.

Police charged Trulove, the driver, with exceeding a safe speed in the curve.

Did they withhold from authorities as to who was driving?

Teens in general drive worse now than ever before. What is going on with them? Here in Johnston county an absurd number teens have been killed in vehicular accidents in the last two years. Someone needs to do a study on teen driving to get an idea as to why.
