2 dogs die in fire at Fayetteville home
Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a home in Fayetteville Thursday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Authorities said an electrical problem was to blame for a Christmas Day fire that caused significant damage to a home in Fayetteville.
Fayetteville firefighters responded at 12:05 p.m. to 734 Banner Elk Drive and found heavy smoke and fire visible from the right corner of the home.
A man who lived in the home was not there at the time, but two dogs trapped inside did not survive. The Red Cross was assisting the man, fire officials said.
Fire officials said a preliminary investigation shows the cause was electrical, but they did not give further details.
