2 arrested in pharmacy theft

Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of approximately 8,400 hydrocodone pills from a Moore County pharmacy.

WEST END, N.C. — Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the theft of approximately 8,400 hydrocodone pills from a Moore County pharmacy.

Cecil Clark Bailey, 29, of 1511 Highway 49 in New London, and Kevin Shawn Latham, 30, of 212 Garrett Street in Denton, were each charged with felony breaking and entering, felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods, two counts of trafficking in opium, two counts of conspiracy to traffic in opium, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule 3 drug, felony possession of a Schedule 3 drug and felony conspiracy.

Bailey was arrested on Feb. 11. Latham was apprehended on May 12.

Bailey was being held on a $75,000 bond and appeared in court Feb. 25. Latham was being held on a $100,000 bond was scheduled to appear in court Monday.

The two were arrested in connection with a Dec. 20 break-in at the Seven Lakes Prescription Shoppe in West End.
