19-year-old shot to death at Fayetteville home

A 19-year-old Fayetteville man died after being shot at his home Wednesday night, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 19-year-old Fayetteville man died after being shot at his home Wednesday night, police said.

Officers responding to calls about a shooting found Guy Leon Mitchell wounded at 828 Rembrandt Drive around 10:30 p.m., police said. Mitchell was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Homicide detectives said they don't have a suspect description and don't know a motive for the shooting.

Mitchell's brother said he planned to start classes at Fayetteville Technical Community College in January to become a medical assistant.
