Police in Sanford are investigating after a man was shot in the leg on New Year's Eve.

<b>SANFORD, N.C.</b> — Police in Sanford said a man was shot in the leg on New Year's Eve.

Around 10 p.m., officials responded to 590 Nicole Drive in reference to a gunshot wound. Marquis A. Barnes, 19, was transported to Cape Fear Valley Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Police said the victim was not cooperative with law enforcement about the incident.
