RALEIGH, N.C. — A 19-year-old, whose body was found floating in Falls Lake in August, drowned, according to a report released Monday by the North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

A group of men riding four-wheelers discovered the body of Annalisa Christine Schulze, 19, of 7109 Avborough Court in Wake Forest, on Aug. 8. The Wake County Sheriff's Office said at the time that they would investigate the incident as a homicide.

According to an autopsy report, Schulze's death is "attributed to drowning occurring in the setting of presumed impairment associated with marijuana and LSD drug use."

The medical examiner ruled her death an accident.

She had reportedly gone camping by the lake and was seen swimming shortly before her body was found, the report said.

Schulze's family friend and neighbor said she was a rising sophomore at East Carolina University studying sociology.

She was an active member of Wake Forest Presbyterian Church, where she participated in youth mission trips.
