RAEFORD, N.C. — The Hoke County Sheriff's Office said Monday that a 19-year-old was shot Saturday evening at a home in Raeford.

Deputies from the Hoke County Sheriff's Office were dispatched around 10:00 p.m. to a house at 105 Lasso Lane in Raeford. Deputies found 19-year-old A'Shadontae Baker near the home with a single gunshot wound to the head.

Baker was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to the sheriff's office, the suspects in the shooting entered the home and took items from it before leaving the scene.

"My understanding is there was an altercation first that led to our victim being shot," said Sheriff Hubert Peterkin. "The suspects went into the house. There was a grandmother and a friend in the home and (the suspects) stole TVs and other property after the murder was committed."

Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to contact the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office immediately at 910-875-5111.
