CAMERON, N.C. — A Thursday afternoon fire at a Harnett County chicken house killed about 19,000 birds, authorities said.
The cause of the fire at the chicken house on Marks Road in Cameron remains under investigation, said Deputy Chief Eric Sutherland of the Spout Springs Fire Department.
